Kansas City's historic neighborhood at the south edge of the Country Club Plaza.

About Rockwell

The Rockwell Homes Association community lies at the southern edge of Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, rising upward into the hills beyond.

Our streets follow the land's wild topography, and our homes follow suit — a rare and intentional mix of historic architecture (including significant work by Mary Rockwell Hook) and thoughtfully designed modern infill. It's a stretch of the city you can't replicate, knit together as one of the region's first premier planned communities.

And we're surrounded. World-class museums, grand parks, iconic shopping and dining districts, and the neighborhoods that anchor Kansas City's south side — the Nelson-Atkins, the Plaza, Loose Park, Westport, Brookside — all within a short walk or drive.

This is the official site serving the Rockwell Homes Association community. Welcome.

Country Club Plaza Under New Ownership

The Country Club Plaza changed hands in 2024, moving the iconic district away from longtime owners Taubman and Macerich. The new ownership group has signaled an ambitious refresh — more housing, better walkability, and a renewed focus on the Plaza's role as the cultural heart of Kansas City. Residents can expect to see meaningful changes unfold over the next several years.

New Symphony Venue Coming to 49th & Main

The Kansas City Symphony has announced plans to build a 4,600-seat performance venue at the southeast corner of 49th & Main, just south of the Plaza. Designed by Kansas City–based Populous, the venue is intended to host more than 100 events per year — touring artists, special performances, and community programming — with construction expected to start late 2026 and doors opening in 2028. The Symphony's regular season will remain at Helzberg Hall in the Kauffman Center.
